Vancouver U.S. customs etc question?

Within the next couple of weeks I will be flying from Toronto to Hawaii by Air Canada.

There will be a plane change in Vancouver. I assume that I will be going through U.S. customs in VANCOUVER rather than Toronto - is that correct?

Also can anyone tell me if my checked luggage will go straight on to Hawaii or do I have to pick it up and re-check it in Vancouver ??

Thx

Arrive at YVR

Most passengers will have their luggage checked-through to their final destination, so you will not claim your checked-bags at YVR. Please confirm this with your airline when you check in for your first flight.

Please ensure you have a boarding card and baggage claim tags for your connecting flight – if you do not, contact your airline for instructions.

2 Proceed to U.S. Departures Area
Follow signs that state USA Departures or USA Connections to International Terminal, U.S. Departures Level 3.

Thx gardyloo:

It would appear from the above that my luggage will be checked through to Hawaii and that I go through U.S. customs in Vancouver.
