Vancouver two day stop

I will be in Vancouver for two full days. I was wondering what I should not miss and where I should stay to make it accessible to visit in such a short time.

Thank You
Maria

For a solo trip try one of the 2 HI Hostels in downtown. For sure see Stanley Park including the paved path along the seawall and the totem poles. There is much to see including a steam powered clock in Gastown.
How are you getting to Vancouver? From where?

We will be flying. We won't rent a car. We will be two.

Is that "... two people" ??

Central Vancouver is somewhat compacted by water on most sides and it is gen-er-al-ly flat-ISH.

Those factors combine for plenty to do in a small-enough area to easily fill two days.

I don't know where you're from, but if you're from the USA, it is sorta meaningful to just roam around and notice the subtle differences between Canadian life and American life.

Few spots illustrate this better than the candy counter at most any store! (even Cigarette brands are largely different)

Beyond that, Granville Island is a good spot to visit, and shopping/dining along/near Robson Street makes sense on your first trip to the area.

Nearby Stanley Park is worth a visit as it is quite the natural setting so near to a big, thriving city.

Chinatown is quite significant in Vancouver, so wander around there at mid-day if you have time.

Gastown is good for nightlife and for dining.

Unlike in a lot of places, normal people are roaming the downtown Vancouver streets at all hours, making it more 'safe' than are the central streets in many similarly-sized cities. So take advantage of that a little bit... perhaps on/near Granville street.

I would use Priceline.com to get a room to help mesh affordability and location.

Otherwise you probably target some semi-rural hotel/motel near to a Skytrain stop. (= still pricey, AND you have to fuss with getting to and from downtown)

You should have everything optimized if able to stay overnight in a central location, ideally with a view of the North Shore Mountains.

Thanks for the help. Yes we are two people from Montreal. We are thinking of using the hop on hop off since we don't have a car and very little time. Would you say that is a good idea? Would you say downtown is the best option for a hotel?

In Vancouver I stay at the YMCA, although it may be a better deal for a single.

Vancouver has good public transport, no reason to use the HOHO.

Loads to see in Vancouver. See the first three posts here:
