Yes, I think you could... and the scenery between various spots can be quite striking, though you should verify with others what it is like in July.
When I went in early April the lakes were almost all frozen and some rivers were too... with snow as a backdrop to everything. July could be quite different, but I hope it isn't too different.
Thankfully you won't even have too many choices for roads between some of those spots, so there isn't much to 'plan' once you make initial decisions.
Enjoy!

Can I revive this old thread to get some updated information? My wife and I are planning a road trip from Vancouver to Alaska in Summer 2013. Below are some details, please provide any insight:
- we live in Vancouver and will be taking our own truck (with camper top) and plan to camp along the way as much as possible
- advice on Month in 2013 would be great to get from everyone
- sights to see along the way/ best routes would be great to get
- should we do a ferry one way and a drive one way or drive both ways and just take different routes?
- we have approx 10-14 days
Look forward to hearing some ideas! Thanks

Agree, start a new thread for more answers.
Also, since you'll be using your truck camper you should check out the forums on these 2 RV specific websites. www.irv2.com and www.rv.net
One of them has a Canada/Alaska dedicated section but at the moment I can't remember which. On both forums are wonderful people who have helped my husband and me get through our first 2 years of RVing. And they don't care what kind of RV you drive or what kind of camping style you prefer. There will be someone who has experience related to your needs who'll chime in and offer good information.
Wish I could convince my husband to make 2013 our year to go back to Alaska. We flew the first time; next time I want to RV up. Hope you get to go and have a fabulous trip.
