Vancouver Restaurant

One night in Vancouver. Money no object. Like all cuisines. Which restaurant?

Ooh, that's a tough one! I'd say Lumiere, though. My meal there last summer was absolutely wonderful.

That is so very subjective. Vancouver is noted for West Coast Cuisine and Asian - wspecially Chinese, Japanese & East Indian. There are also some teriific French, Italian, Greek, etc. Restaurants. I suggest you go to some Vancuver web sites, choose the type of food you'd be most interested in; then ask us for our reccomendations.

Thanks for the Lumiere suggestion sheri. Gary and Robyn, I have looked at the websites and there are so many restaurants that look good that I really just want some opinions from those who live there or have been there. We really are open to any different cuisine. We just want an unbelievable meal. Where would you two go if you had to choose only one?

Five Sails atop Canada Place, (The cruise ship terminal), because the food is as great as the views. The only sad thing is that it's continental cooking so you won't get the type of food Vanocouver is most noted for. Nevertheless if I could only eat one dinner that's where it would be.

There are so many great places in Vancouver. I would suggest The Cannery for fish, Gotham for a hip place, Diva at the Met (in the Metropolitan Hotel), or Bianco Nero for Italian. There is also a great restaraunt downtown which used to be a bank but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it!

Rain is supposed to be terrific. Fusion cuisine, very expensive and hard to get into.

Bishops (2183 W 4th)has been rated the number one restaurant in Vancouver for 5 years in a row. My favourite for seafood is A Kettle of Fish (900 Pacific). If you like your fish raw try Taka Sushi (2059 W 4th)
