Vancouver - Lodgings
Hi,<BR>Looking for inn or smallish hotel suggestions near UBC.<BR><BR>Thanks
|
The western half of Vancouver (and UBC at the westernmost tip of that area) is almost all residential with a couple of hotels on West Broadway. You can call the government run travel referral service at 1-800-hello bc for a listing of the B&Bs in the area. If the service is not running right now, post another note and I will dig out the listings I can find.

Actually the closest thing time-wise to UBC might be a couple of hotels on S.W. Marine Drive between Oak & Granville which are the Coast Airport or the Fraser Arms - the latter being bare bones and the former being about Holiday Inn quality. They are about 20 minutes from the heart of UBC and I don't think you can get much closer than that. Unless....<BR><BR>you're interested in the Jericho Youth Hostel near 4th and Alma. While it's only about 8 minutes from the heart of the campus it is a Youth Hostel and you should judge it accordingly.

Actually, I'd suggest looking into getting lodging AT UBC. I know they provide several accommodation choices for out of town visitors. I know, because I go there. :)<BR><BR>http://www.conferences.ubc.ca/accommodation_overview.htm<BR><BR>http://www.conferences.ubc.ca/accommodation_pacificspirithostel.htm<BR><BR>http://www.conferences.ubc.ca/accomm...oastsuites.htm

Wow.<BR>Thank you very much.

Also try www.vancouver-bc.com for a listing of B&Bs in the area. Staying on campus may be OK for a while, but eating campus food? Yuck. And I graduated from UBC.
