While I agree with the comments on the Wedgewood, the four hotels that you've mentioned are quite different from it and perhaps that's what you're looking for.

The Westin Bayshore is literally a 'resort' hotel in the heart of a big city. It is located on the edge of Vancouver Harbour right next door to Stanley Park and about a kilometre from the heart of Downtown with free shuttle bus service. Generally good rooms and 4 star service.

The Pacific Palisades is on Robson Street which is the classsy shopping and 'see and be seen' scene of the city. It's quite popular with visiting celebrities although that's more because of their huge suites than the quality of their standard rooms and general service which is more of a 3 star rating.

The Sheraton Suites Lesoliel is very centrally located and while the rooms and quality is quite good the chance of getting a hampered view room is quite high due to being blocked by another building is high.

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is the dowager hotel of Vancouver and while it's been totaly renovated many times, (last time about 4 years ago), it still retains an art deco air. It is the best located - if you're looking to be in the heart of the downtown area. The rooms by the way vary considerably in size and views. If you're not getting an upgrade room you probably will find it smallish and a long walk from the elevator.
