I was a little disappointed in the Sheraton Suites Le Soleil. Although we had a patio (bleak-looking, no furniture), there was no view to speak of, just a glimpse of the water, a construction site and buildings. Furnishings were very nice but the room had an odd layout that felt a bit cramped... and the carpets in our room were wet! Personally, I'm not crazy about valet parking.

That said, the staff was wonderful and very personable. But I think I'd try one of the other two hotels, preferably one with a good ocean view.

The Westin Grand is probably the best. It's location really isn't bad - no more than a few blocks from most downtown attractions - and it's fairly new. The Pacific Pallisades is about 10 blocks the other side of Robson and is popular with Movie Stars. The Sheraton le Soleil is at the centre of things but , as the above post says, it's almost claustrophobic the way it's tucked in among other tall buildings. Go with the Westin.

I highly recommend the Westin Grand. We just returned from a family vacation to Vancouver(had 2 girls 5 & 7 yrs.), Whistler & Seattle and we loved it. Although it was a bit of a walk to most attractions, it wasn't too far out of the way. Both my husband and I were impressed by the friendliness of the staff. All of Vancouver for that matter. Nice new, clean rooms & great pool!

Just returned from a vacation in Vancouver and Victoria. We stayed at the Delta Vancouver Hotel Suites. We had a corner room on the 22nd floor, which gave us a beautiful view of the mountains and water. Well appointed rooms and large. Within walking distance to almost everything. Hotel staff was great! Would definitely stay there again. We booked through Travelape.com and got an excellent rate.

Another vote for the Westin Grand! We were there for 8 nights in March, and the location, as mentioned above, was reasonably close to everything we wanted to see downtown. It was a well-laid out space with separate living room and the bath could be accessed from the hall side or the bedroom side. We particularly liked the small, well-equipped kitchenette since we were there awhile. We also had dinner at the restaurant as well as room service--both were good! Also as mentioned, the staff was very friendly!
