vancouver airport transportation

Flying in to Vancouver in August ans staying at Hyatt Regency. Does the Skytrain, which I hear is wonderful run from the airport to the major hotels downtown?

If not what is the most inexpensive way to get from the airport to the Hyatt?

Thanks in advance.

No, the Skytrain doesn't run to the airport.

Cheapest way is to take public buses. #424 runs from terminal to the Airport Station Bus Termina, where you change to 98. Walk 4 blocks to the Hyatt. C$2.25.

Next up is the Airporter, which is C$12.

Considering that a cab would cost in the order of C$25, it would be in the same price range as the Airporter, if it was being shared by two people.

For other public transportation needs while you're in Vancouver, here is TransLink's Trip Planning page:

If you take the cheapest way, which is public transportation, be advised that the bus in question (no. 98) is a regular city bus and not designed to carry passengers with lots of luggage. I took that bus from downtown to the airport a few years ago and would never do it again. It's a busy route, with lots of passengers getting on and off the whole time. My suitcase and I were in the way, blocking the aisle for everyone else. It just wasn't worth it to save an extra few dollars.

Definitely consider the airporter bus or a taxi.
