Vancouver

Hi Friends!

My aunts and I are considering a trip to Vancouver and Victoria next spring.

Is April a good time to go?

What are some must-do's in each town?

Thank you so much,
CrossfitGal

I have been to both in April, as well as other months. It will still be a bit chilly most likely.

Butchart Garden is the usual draw for Victoria, but we also have enjoyed float plane tours from there as well as just wandering the main harbor area, Chinatown, and Beacon Hill Park. My daughter and I did enjoy tea at the Empress, although it is not cheap. In case you are looking for lodging, I highly recommend either Abigail's or Chateau Victoria. CV is right behind the Empress and Abigail's is a few blocks away, closer to Beacon Hill Park. I have stayed at CV several times, and Abigail's only once, but loved both, FWIW.

For Vancouver we enjoyed Capilano, Wings over Canada, Stanley Park, Granville Island and just wandering around town. Again if you are looking for lodging, check out O'Canada House. My husband and I stayed in two rooms there, including the Penthouse Suite which would work well for several people. Anyway, great place, great location, and absolutely amazing breakfasts! We drove there from our home in WA, and they have free parking in the back and that is a huge plus for Vancouver as parking is so limited and often comes at a premium price. We did the HOHO in Vancouver (in early March) and it was just ok. I would hate to try it when it was busy. It did get you around though, but the waiting for the next trolley, wondering if it was full etc was not ideal. Since we had our vehicle, we should have just used that, but we didn't know.
