two days in Vancouver with children-- what should we do?
We will be in Vancouver for two days after a cruise with our three boys, aged 12, 10, & 4. We love to do outdoors stuff (boys love sports), have an interest in history and love to eat good food. What should we do?
We do NOT plan to rent a car there-- given this, where should we stay? Thanks for your help. |
You can rent bikes and explore the great Stanley park.Paul

You should stay at the Westin Bayshore, near Stanley Park.
You should eat, at least once, at Granville Island Market, buying food from various retailers and then having a picnic outside watching the boats go by. BAK |
Years ago, my dh and i had wonderful dim sum in Vancouver-- definitely don't remember the name of the restaurant. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant for us to take the boys to for dim sum?

A windsailing class for the older boys here might suit http://jsca.bc.ca/
An evening kayak paddle with http://ecomarine.com/ Renting bikes and circumnavigating the park as suggested is a great idea remember to go anti-clockwise I did it again today all kinds of fun. For eats Go Fish in the parking lot of Fisherman's Wharf next to Granville Island is sure to appeal. 1504 West 1st Ave. Vancouver, BC Tel: 604-730-5040 I have a few other ideas buzzing around but am fading let's see if I remember them tomorrow. |

The Westin Bayshore is a great hotel for kids! Indoor & outdoor pool--cabs are easy way to get around. There is a great maritime museum which our grandsons loved! Lots to do. Stanley park & Granville Island are "must do's".
