Hi - We are planning a 6 day trip to NS. Is this enough time to go to Lunenberg, Halifax, Cape Breton, AND Bay of Fundy? We fly into Halifax. Thanks.

Nope. What time of day do you fly into Halifax? You will need at least 3 days for Cape Breton Island (one full day for travelling - one full day for exploring and that is just if you want to do the trail - and another day to see other parts of the Island). Lunenburg is doable in a day trip - just one hour outside of Halifax.

We fly into Halifax Monday night then depart on Monday. So we have 6 full days. We thought of this itinerary but it seems too full and likely stressful. Please give advice on what to leave out to get the most out of our trip without feeling pressured (this is our honeymoon). Our original itinerary: Day1: Halifax; Day2: Peggy's Cove and Lunenberg; Day3: Travel to Cape Breton; Day5: Cape Breton trekking; Day6: Travel and Bay of Fundy, Digby; Day7: Travel to airport. Please give your thoughts. Thanks much.

I agree that you should cut back a bit with only 6 days.

Although we enjoyed Brier(?) Island and the Bay of Fundy, I suggest you drop that part of your trip and concentrate on Cape Breton.

In hindsight, that's what we would have done.

Hi - Cape Breton Island would be the place for you. I would try to do The Cabot Trail which is a must see,and a full day. Also the Fortress of Louisbourg,which is approx. 1/2 to a full day. Your drive down from halifax would take approx. 5 to 6 hrs for someone who doesn't know the roads so thats 2 & 1/2 days. You might want to explore Sydney & its surrounding areas such as Glace Bay for its mining history All of the island has a certain charm for newlyweds, who like a slower pace & more time to enjoy your surroundings. If you like your privacy I would suggest a B& B as a place to stay. It will give you time for yourself with no crowds. By the way Congrats & Enjoy.

For honeymoon accommodations you might want to try the Haliburton Inn in Halifax, Inverary in Baddeck or Gisele's, the Normaway in Margaree and of course, Keltic in Ingonish! Just some suggestions!
