Eva is really the only one from a business standpoint that they can properly market & perhaps cash in on. I picked her day one. Only downside is she probably could have got somewhere without idol & the stigma attached to it.

Take a look at the last few 'idols', ever heard of Ryan Malcolm lately? Didn't think so..

we'll know a week from sunday, at the gala results show.....

I am probably biased but I find the candidates much more interesting on CI than AI.....

I thought the final was Monday Sept 11 w/ results on Tuesday Sept 12! Mitch, what Sunday gala show do you mean? Sunday Sept 17??

I think it is truly sad.......Craig is so totally lacking in talent and charisma.....and has only gotten this far because of the Newfoundland vote.

Eva is OK but Steffi D is the only one of the bunch that I would walk across the street to see.

Jerry, Jerry: You did not have to "walk across the street" to see SteffiD".....she wld come to you!!!...& that was the problem w/ her. I really liked Chad Doucette from Nova Scotia but he's gone. Too bad that you can't hear Craig's voice. It took more than Nfld to keep Craig there! Interesting that last year another Newfoundlander(Rex Goudie) made it to the "Top 2". And, now here we go again. From the beginning I thought the "Final Two" wld be Tyler/Eva or Chad/Eva. I was 50% right! Anyway...it will be interesting to see how this one unfolds! I do think that Eva will be the ultimate winner but my vote goes to Craig Sharpe!

Met Steffi D the week she left Idol at the Spamalot intermission..... tiny little 17yr old with a huge talent!
My vote is for Eva too..
Craig has a unique and wonderful voice but that is the only positive thing every celebrity guest ever says about him. He seems to be very *off-putting* for some reason. I think he may be less ready to handle the whole "Idol" thing and all that goes with it. Just mho.

I have more than a passing interest in the Canadian music scene and have worked very closely with some young Nfld artists......and could easily find a half dozen kids at any talent night in St. John's who could ' blow Craig right out of the water'with some coaching and preparation. The kid just 'doesn't have it'....in my humble opinion, of course.

Totally agree with all about Steffi D-what a talented young woman-we will definitely hear from/of her again whereas this Idol, whether Craig or Eva will sink from view like the others...but surely Craig's problem is the same think that is his greatest asset in this competition-he is SO young? he is probably being voted for by those most likely to phone, multiple times, even (i.e. very young girls). I don't think it is the Newfoundland vote-the least populous province of them all...

The St. John's paper recently reported that Craig's home town [Upper Island Cove] has people at pay phones redailing the toll free number 500 times after each show.....even many Newfoundlanders are disgusted.

I think it is especially unfortunate because Nfld has a multitude of absolutely wonderful young performers. Go any local music festival out there and you will be AMAZED at the 13 to 18 year old young people who are very talented singers, fiddlers etc.

And yes, Steffi is amazing.

Yes, the finale will be sept 17, the final competition is on sept 11.

I'd go for Eva - not a fan of Craig, but I think he's popular with the little girls. Steffi D is a little too 'musical theatre' for me, but overall most of them seem talented.

TobieT, I really like Lukas Rossi - I'm not even a fan of any of the Supernova guys, but he's great!

Not a fan of the "band" either but Lukas is certainly talented, and as such might actually be better off not winning. I don't see SuperNova doing much past the initial tour.

Well, at least Eva won.......she certainly has potential but seems a bit overwhelmed by everything.
