transport Victoria Vancouver help

What is the best and cheapest way to get from Victoria airport to Victoria center and from Victoria to downtown Vancouver?
Is it possible to see Victoria without a car?
Thank you

From Victoria to Vancouver the least expensive way would be to take the PCL bus. It leaves from downtown Victoria, goes on the ferry, then drops you off in downtown Vancouver.

Yes, it's possible to see Victoria without a car--most everything's in walking distance of the Inner Harbour. For Butchart Gardens, you can take a city bus or a tour bus.

Here is the website for the shuttle from Victoria Airport to downtown
http://www.victoriaairportshuttle.com/ It is very convenient and reasonably priced. They make stops at most of the hotels. As NWWanderer said you certainly do not need a car - most of the attractions are right in the centre of the city (Inner Harbour) where the bus depot is. How long do you have in Victoria?

Hi

Just had a lovely visit to Victoria without renting a car. While certainly a car allows you, like most places, to go further afield, there is much of interest in walking distance of the harbour. One can rent bikes on Douglas St. near the Royal BC Museum for $7/hr.

The Pacific Coach Lines ride, which gives you an hour and a half on the ferry, lets you experience what is one of THE most beautiful ferry rides I'd ever been on.

Thank you for the information. We'll have two days in Victoria.
Can you recommend a nice place to stay?

The Best Western Harbour Inn, is extremely convenient to everything in the downtown area.

I do have a stupîd question...
I have checked the PCL schedule and it looks convenient, but I suppose we better book the coach ticket in advance, since number of seats is limited on the coach...
Getting 4 adults on the ferry should not be a problem, but on the coach indeed...

No problem with seats on the bus. The put as many buses on as needed. Just get your ticket at the depot a little ahead of time and relax and enjoy Victoria.
Also, you can get a shuttle bus from the terminal to Butchart Gardens for less than $10 each way which is a lot cheaper than getting the tour bus. They run regularly so you can go at your own time.
