There are many beautiful train rides in Canada. What part of the country were you interested in? There really isn't any truly scenic train ride from Toronto.
There is a beautiful train ride in the fall to see the autumn colours leaving from Ste Sault Marie up to the Agawa Canyon.

Further to Lee's message:

Going from Toronto to Montreal, the right side of the tain car, facing south toward lake Ontario, is pretty good, but far from "a great scenic train ride."

And youcould get on the train in Toronto, be bored for several days until you get well to the west of Edmonton, and then the scenery through the Rocky Mountains is great.

BAK

I only somewhat agree with Brian Kilgore's general sentiment about the ride from Toronto to Montreal. It ain't the Rockies for sure with waterfalls and mountains, but I do think the vistas of Lake Ontario are nevertheless quite lovely...particularly between Belleville and suburban Toronto, but also in the Kingston area. A few minutes out of Kingston going toward Montreal is pretty blah scenically-speaking.
