Thanks.

If you will be in Victoria, Thunderbird Park, located only a couple of blocks up from the harbor area is a great little park. Any tourist map will show it. I was there last summer and while my wife and older son were waiting in line for a seat in a restarant across the street, I took my 8-year-old into the park. I got some great shots of him playing "totem" around them. It's a small park with 8-10 totems or so. If you will be in Vancouver, Stanley Park has some, too, including the tallest totem in the world - quite impressive! Have fun!

There is usually carving going on at Thunderbird Park as well. Some old totems are in an enclosed case by the museum cafeteria. Inside the museum is a bighouse replica, plus masks and other artifacts. Beacon Hill Park has one tall totem.

Most of the wineries on Vancouver Island are in the Cowichan Valley area which is about an hours drive north of Victoria (around Duncan).

Duncan is also an excellent place to see totems and find Cowichan sweaters.
