Toronto with Kids
Babysitting three children ( 4,8,10) in March. Looking for a trip from Pittsburgh, Pa. Thought Toronto a possibility. What would be fun activities ?
|
Kids are too young... Toronto is a great walking city... Toronto is a great Summer city for kids... March is an iffy weather month... Bad choice in March...
There's a big indoor water park in Erie, PA... |
There is plenty to do for kids in Toronto indoors in March. Here are just a few suggestions:
Royal Ontario Museum, especially the dinosaur galleries. Ontario Science Centre--you can easily spend a day there. Ripley Aquarium and the CN Tower Casa Loma Hockey Hall of Fame Many places will have special activities for kids during March Break week as well (March 14-18). The Chelsea Hotel is a large centrally located hotel that caters to families as well as business guests. You might want to look into it. However, you might prefer the delights that Erie PA has to offer instead. |
Sorry but I disagree with gary. The kids definitely aren't too young. True it will still be winter but we've had an exceptionally mild winter so you may get lucky with good weather for walking. Even if it's chilly, so what?
All the things lavendrye has suggested plus: Ice skating (and indoor events) at Harbourfront and in front of City Hall Casa Loma Medieval Times The AGO and the ROM both have kids programs The St. Lawrence Market on Saturday I'm sure there are other things I haven't thought of but here's a good website for a start: http://www.toronto4kids.com/Calendar...&submit=Search And if it turns out there's lots of snow, there's always tobogganing! And yes, the Eaton Chelsea is a moderately-priced hotel, quite nice, well-located and there's a pool and a huge waterslide! |
Casa Loma for kids under 10?... I was 40 and was bored...
I don't disagree that Toronto has lots for kids... Just that March is a bad month... |
(Maybe you were bored because you were 40.)
I forgot to mention the CN Tower. |
Casa Loma was supposed to cure my mid life crisis?
|
Yes. Of course. Didn't you know that? They keep a pretty good psychoanalyst up in the tower for you mid-life crisis guys. You get your session while the kids downstairs are having fun. :)
