Toronto Restaurants
I'm going to Toronto this weekend and was wondering if anyone could recommend places to eat within walking distance of the Eaton Centre. We're looking for casual, but good food - Seafood/Italian/Mexican - anything really - & breakfast. Have any restaurants extended the summerlicious menus for this week? Are there any good festivals this weekend? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Walk up Yonge Street to Elm Street, two blocks north of the Eaton Center, turn left, and eat at Il Fornello. Casual, Italian, good.
Breakfast is harder. The fancy cafeteria in the Delta Chelsea is probably the best food at the best prices within a couple of blocks of the Eaton Centre. It's across the street from Il Fornello. BAK BAK |
Beaches Jazz Festival
www.beachesjazz.com Take a Queen streetcar from the Queen Street end of the Eaton Center. You want to go east. Toronto Star Bluesfest www.torontobluesfest.com At Exhibition Place, which can be reached from the Eaton Centre by taking the subway south to Union Station and transferring to the 509 Harbourfront streetcar. And Kellogg's is sponsoring a kids' festival at the Air Canda Center.BAK |
I would also say any of the Chinatown restaurants would be a good bet, and not far from the Eaton Center.

The Pier 4 is a good casual seafood restaurant but it's on the harbor, so it would require a quick subway/streetcar trip from the Eaton Centre area. (Take the subway 3 stops down to Union and then transfer to the harbourfront lrt streetcar - hop off in front of the Radisson Admiral Hotel.)
