There's a hundred good restaurants within walking distance.
When will you be there, what kind of food do you like, and what's your budget? $50, $100 and $150-for-one steakhouses within a short walk; $30, $50, $100 Italian within a short walk... Japanese, Thai, ... BAK |
we like steak/seafood - total tab at $100 would work. we are coming in 2 weeks.

Hy's Steakhouse is a on Adelaide Street West, three blocks north of Front Street where the RY is located; Ruth Chris' steakhouse is on Richmond West, another block north from Adelaide in the Hilton Hotel. Lots of restaurants east of Yonge in the market area - the concierge at the hotel can direct you. And the hotel itself has Epic and a Japanese steakhouse.

The best meal I've had in a long time was at Scaramouche on Avenue Road - it would be a cab ride from the hotel but not a long cab ride.

Hy's and Ruth's Chris are not going to work for $100, (with tacx and tip and some wine, closer to $200) nor will Bardi's (out the west end door of the hotel) nor the Japanese Steak House in the basement.
But Canyon Creek would. Out the front door of the hotel onto Front Street. Turn right, cross over the weird intersection (three streets meet in one place) and keep walking half a block, and you are at Canyon Creek. Before you go in, take a look at the other restaruants in the block, too. You might find something that appeals even more. There's a big strip of restaurants on King Street West, starting at Simcoe, and running to Spadina, but there's not one good steakhouse among them. Near this strip, though, there's the Strip House half a block north on Duncan, and Milestone's, on John Street, serves a good, moderately priced, steak. But I'd go to Canyon Creek. BAK |
