Toronto on a Sunday

I was just wondering if the majority of things to do in Toronto were closed on Sundays

Toronto is wide open on Sundays. Many of the shops and malls don't open until 11 am or 12 noon though.

Mornings are boring, afternoons are fine, evenings are semi-boring.

The Toronto Islands are there seven days a week....

Closed on Sundays? Not since the 1950s.

Sunday mornings are quiet, as everywhere.

"Closed on Sundays? Not since the 1950s."

The other posters are right; there are lots of things to do in Toronto on a Sunday, and many shops are open in the afternoon. But tedgale, I remember most Toronto retailers (except in some designated "tourist areas" like Harbourfront) being locked up tight in Toronto, well into the late 1980s.

well I was really thinking of the "blue laws" and the impossibility of getting a drink on Sunday, etc....

When I grew up in Ontario, there were no Sunday movies, no professional sports, NOTHING but church-going and Sunday drives in the country.

no problem finding a drink with the game on the big screen!

Although Sunday drives in the country can sometimes be nice too!
