Toronto Locals: Possible to walk from Lower Simcoe to Front Street?

Toronto Locals: Possible to walk from Lower Simcoe to Front Street?
I can see on street-view in Google maps that I can walk from the harbour, north on Lower Simcoe all the way to Bremner Blvd. However, after Bremner, the street-view doesn't work anymore. On the overview map, it looks like the block after Bremner there are a bunch of tracks (train tracks?), and a PATH Skywalk.
So we can enter the PATH Skywalk at Bremner to cross the tracks, and then we can carry onto Front Street?
I know this seems like micro-planning, but I will be travelling with elderly visiting the city and I want to avoid having to figure it out/back-track when there with them. We're walking from the harbour to the CN Tower and I understand the entrance to the CNT is on Front Street, near the foot of John St.
Hoping someone familiar with the area can help out - much appreciated - enjoy-la!

Yes you are correct and there are tracks .The main streets are tunnels under the tracks with a sidewalk and very walkable . I cannot recall exactly what Simcoe looks like but I'm pretty sure you will be ok walking straight through to Front Street .
I'm not entirely sure you can access The Path here, but anyway walking under the tunnel is the way to go .

You don't have to go to Front Street to get to the CN Tower - the main (south) entrance is off of Bremner - if you come from Front Street you'll have to come down a lot of stairs (or find an elevator) Also, according to their website the PATH entrance is closed due to construction - so come up Lower Simcoe and turn left on Bremner.

BTW - the last time I was at the Tower with out of town guests there was quite a line so we opted to have lunch at the restaurant at the top (you bypass the elevator line if you're going to the restaurant) The food was really good - honestly we were all shocked as a restaurant with a view usually isn't known for its food! The Prix Fixe menu includes the lift (about a $25 value I think so the lunch price of $52 is really $27 and you won't need dinner!)

I will walk them to the Bremner entrance - they are mostly mobile, but being quite senior, a lot of stairs is a wonderful avoidance.
We have lunch plans so I've made a rez for dinner - not as good a value but it's their first visit to TO and likely their only one to the CNT so it'll be nice for them to see the city lights come up. Thx again - Fodorites are fab!

Hi ,
Elizabeth_S has already given you great advice. But just addressing your original question, there's now (and has been for a couple of years at least) a tunnel along Lower Simcoe under the railway right-of-way into Union Station. So had you wanted to go that route for other reasons, you can walk or drive straight through and avoid having to go through by way of York St./University Ave.
