What's your budget? And do you have to have the car? Parking will make it quite a bit more expensive and public transportation here is easy.

We got the Pantages Hotel for $159 a few weeks ago.
Check on Hotels.com for specials. It was a great hotel for that price.

While checking on the internet we found a Besyt western Roehampton hotel & suites for 143.99 CAD a night.Would that hotel be with walking distance of say the CN tower ?Paul

goddesstogo May 11th, 2008 04:29 AM

No, tovarich, it's mid-town and far from the CN Tower.

Try:
the Holiday Inn on King Street,
the Novotel (on the Esplanade, I think; not the one on Yonge Street in North York),
the Strathcona,
the Suites on King, and
the Cambridge Suites at Richmond and Yonge.

We just stayed at the new Residence Inn and it was about 2 blocks from CN.

There's the Victoria Hotel on Yonge Street, just north of Wellington, too.

The Sheraton Center has a special on if you book before May 19. Room rate is $139 plus taxes = about $157. Use the code SUMM08 when you book. If you need help, let me know.

The Sheraton is right downtown, opposite City Hall.

I found that Priceline was good to use for Toronto. If you look at the map you will see what area to bid in. I got the Marriott Toronto Downtown for $81.00.

Sorry I led you astray. The summer promotion ends on August 31. That's why it didn't come up as an option for you. You are right about the price being too high - that's atrocious. I would recommend you call the Sheraton reservations line and ask for the lowest possible rate for the days you want. For each price they offer, keep asking if there is any way you could pay less.

Priceline is a good option too.

I have stayed at a place called the Strathcona Hotel on 3 or 4 occassions. It is located a block from Union Station on York. It is across the street from the Royal York hotel and very convenient to Rogers Center, Hockey Hall of Fame, CN Tower, Air Canada Centre and other downtown locations. The last time I stayed there in Summer of 2006 the nightly rate was around $120.00 USD for 2 double beds. There is also a Pub in the basement of the hotel.

We booked the Strathcona hotel with the senior reduction.Paul
