Toronto Comedy Clubs - what's new?

My son and I will be in Toronto the 3rd week of July. We have tickets for Mamma Mia but are interested in a comedy club as well. Are there any that an 18 y.o. can get into?

Probably not (legally at least). The drinking age here is 19 and if you're under that age, you're not supposed to be in an establishment that serves alcohol. If he looks older, they might not ask for I.D. The fact he's with his mother will probably help too.

Lots of restaurants that serve booze welcome children.

I'm out of town, but will check with some comdedy clubs next week.

Yuk Yuk's cashier / ticket seller just told me there are no age rules. He asked how old the boy was, and when I said 18 he did not give it a second thought.

Little kids might find some of the acts raunchy, but 18...

Tuesdays cost $2 and are amateurs and students. I almost went it.

Thanks, BAK. Looks like that will definitely go on the list.

There are other choices.. there's a comedy club in the Holiday Inn on King, and my probable preference would be Second City. All three are within a few blocks of each other, south of Queen Street, west of University Avenue.

Tony and Tina's Wedding is a comedy dinner show and play combination. I know people who loved it (they were Italian) and who hated it because it was loud and boorish.
