Toronto Airport Hotels

We are going to Toronto for a training course April 27-May 2nd and need to stay at the airport close to the class. We are driving from the states - any recommendations on a good hotel that might have free parking. Also is it easier to leave car there in the evenings when we want to go downtown? (Thinking parking might be a problem there?)

Parking rules vary with the hotel, and with the deal you make regarding the rate you pay.

There are a lot of hotels, and budget makes a diffrence in your choice. I'd suggest the Wyndan Bristol Place and the Airport Mariott for senior executives; on a budget there's several hotels within the Choice Hotels family.

Pick a name brand hotel you have heard of; there are several small hotels that are holding stations for questionabole immigrants, with guards in the halls, etc.

If I was going downtown int he evenings, I'd drive. It is a very long way by public transit, and going to the airport and getting an airport limo or bus is more trouble than it is worth.

Toronto has lots of reasonably priced parking downtown, in most interestingneighborhoods, except when there's a big event at Skydome. Then, there's still lots of parking, but it costs more.

BAK

The Celebrity Hotel is one of the 'questionable' hotels that BAK refers to (don't ask how I know this !). That said, the feds have recently announced plans to build a separate facility for these guests.

We recently stayed at the International Plaza, very close to the airport (free shuttle from/to airport), free parking included with your stay at the hotel and we even took the local bus to Toronto...first you take the bus, then you take the train - it was very easy and fairly fast and no hassle..

hotel is at

I've stayed many, many times at the Travelodge on Dixon Rd. and have found it very, very good....large, well appointed rooms, good restaurant, with lots of other good restaurants within walking distance. There is an airport shuttle bus, but it will cost you $5/trip. I think there is free parking at this hotel. If this doesn't tickle your fancy, the Regal Constellation is kitty corner to the Travelodge. I've stayed there too and it is very nice....very good restaurant, nice rooms. Hope this will help.
