Things to do in Toronto?
 

I will be there for 2 days in June and don't have a clue what I should do. Any suggestions?

By the start of June it should be warm enough for restaurants and pubs to open their terraces. There could be outdoor concerts but indoors the spring season of plays and museum shows will be wrapping up. Some of the live theatre action will have shifted to the Stratford Festival but Soulpepper, in an old distillery district, keeps repetory plays going through the summer. www.soulpepper.ca At any time of the year Toronto is a great city for movies, now augemented by screenings at the permanent home of the Toronto International Film Festival. Has anyone visited the 100 year old castle like residence outside of Toronto?

Deladeb - are you referring to Casa Loma? If so it is not outside of Toronto but in fact very close to downtown (especailly the Yorkville area that tourists love).

Since you'll be here in June, you may want to catch some of the Toronto Jazz Festival with performances (some free) at various venues. Definitely head to the Distillery District; they have great outdoor patios and it is one of the jazz festival venues. Harbourfront on the shores of Lake Ontario is perfect for a stroll or a bite to eat. You can take the ferry across to the Toronto Islands. If you're looking for cheap restaurants with great food, head to Kensington Market at College and Spadina. If you're looking for cool bars, head to Ossington Avenue, a very hot Toronto neighbourhood.

There are festivals in Toronto every weekend and Kensington Market has pedestrian Sundays on the last Sunday of every month. Pick up a copy of NOW Magazine (or google it) for what's happening that week. It comes out on Thursdays and you can find it at just about every streetcorner.

Buy a hop on/hop off bus pass and explore the city from Chinatown, to Casa Loma. A taxi anywhere in downtown is no less than $20. The bus pass also includes a harbour cruise.
