Things to do in Ontario?

Can anyone tell me of some great places to visit not more than 1 1/2 hours outside of toronto? We're staying in downtown TO and looking for things to do OTHER than niagra... something kind of.. different.
Can anyone give me any suggestions?
Thanks!

Playdium - Mississauga - video games, great for the kids; black creek pioneer village - Steeles & Jane- you can have lunch or dinner there; not sure how far Kingston is, but Bolt Castle is there and a fort with a demonstration; Morrisburg is in the same area--pioneer village; north to cottage country - Muskoka, perhaps rent a cottage for a week; have you seen the Science Centre in Don Mills, east of Toronto?; when are you coming and what do you like to do?

Castle Loma is a fun old castle to see in Toronto. Also the CN tower - you can ride up it. If you like shopping, there is a mall underground which is a bit different. there is also a great Toronto Zoo. But this is all in Toronto.

Kingston is three hours away from the outskirts of Toronto, and the Thousand islands another 30-45 minutes from there.

African Lion Safari, which I think is a great place, and Niagara Falls are each about an hour and a half away.

Bracebridge and Greavenhurst, on the Muskoka lakes, are intereting, and there are boat tours available. See how the long-time Toronto people established cottages for the summer, and see how some are still theold and small, and others are the big and luxurious.

Toronto zoo and Canada's Wonderland (giant amusement park) can be an hour and a half from downtown on a bad day; closer most of the time.

McMichael Art Gallery in Kleinberg is worth a visit if you like traditional art.

BAK

BAK

I also think African Lion safari is a good idea. Also , St Jacobs, a mennonite town north west of Toronto attracts a lot of tourists...and it is close to Waterloo which has a big farmers market if you are interested in that sort of thing.
Also the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington if you like gardens.
There is the Bruce Trail for grat hiking ..it is a long distance hiking trail and very well marked and well known. YOu could hike part of it if you are so inclined. Email me if you are intersted and I can tell you more.
