Theatre Tickets

Hi, I am visiting Toronto in approx. 2 weeks, and would love to see "Mamma Mia" and/or "The Lion King". <BR> <BR>Can anyone tell me if tickets are likely to be available for these? I've heard they're in high demand. <BR>

Use your search function with either "Lion King" or "Princess of Wales Theater", and you will eventually be able to get to the Mervish website where you can find out about tickets (Sorry, I dont have the address). You can find out what's available, exactly where the seats are, and then order them on line. It's what we did, and was very easy.

I meant the general search function on your computer, not the Fodor search.

You can try www.telecharge.com or www.ticketmaster.com . I donīt know which one is selling tickets for the shows you want. You can also call the theater where they are perfoming. Shows addresses and phones are available at www.playbill2.com . Hope it helps!

The tickets are in very high demand. <BR>They are sold through ticketking (not ticketmaster) at 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333 or www.ticketking.com <BR>I had better luck getting my tickets by phone than by internet. <BR> <BR>You may have a better chance of getting tickets if you're willing to take singles.

The ticketking web site is quite easy to navigate, I got matinee tickets to Mamamia withing two weeks notice. The Lion King might be a bit easier. Do not count on last minute walk-in purchases it would be a fluke. For other links about Toronto try Toronto.com

If you have an AMEX card, you could try their Front of the Line program if it civers these shows. I also recall the Sheraton being the official hotel of one or both of these shows and may have hotel/theatre packages. Good Luck.

D, <BR> <BR>I was in Toronto last month and saw Lion King. It was a great show, although not as good as the production in New York. I hadn't heard about Mamma Mia til I got there and had a chance to buy some tickets at a reasonable price from someone on the street. Both shows had plenty of scalpers offering seats. Your concierge can also be of some assistance. Good luck.
