The Meridian at 910 Beach Hotel/Vancouver
Anyone know anything about this hotel...good? bad?

The Meridian is basically a converted Apartment Block but that means it's got big suites complete with kitchens. The location is great for the beaches and Granville Island and only a block from the Water Taxis that ply False Creek but it's almost directly under the Burrard Bridge which is a little tacky. The area is otherwise mostly a upper scale hi-rise condo neighbourhood so it's definately not isolated. While it's about 8 long blocks to the heart of downtown within a block or two there is a wide range of good to excellant restaurants. From what I've heard for the price it's a good deal.

Gary...I went ahead and reserved a small suite for 2 nites....I got a good feeling talking to the staff....they went over and above with their helpfulness to a newcomer to their city.
thanks! |
I am considering booking an apartment for 3 nights here in June.
Can anyone advise how convenient this location is for a Vancouver city break on foot? Doesn't look to far from Stanley Park on the hotel map. many thanks |
Vancouver is quite a compact place you'll be able to walk almost anywhere in 30 minutes or less.

We stayed at the townhouses, have a great groundlevel access to the street. Walking is interesting because to the beach you will find the seabus stop which takes you directly and non-stop ride to the market at Granville Island. We would definitely repeat the stay. Parking is ok, but a little awkward if you stay at the townhouse, you have to go inside the hotel and walk outside to your townhouse/room. The distribution is ok, for 3 to 4. Kitchen is ok, but you will need some kitchen tools, none available.
Location is great, and if you like to walk, you're not that far away from Robson Street. |
