The best way to get from Vancouver to Toronto?
 

I will be in Vancouver in late January next year and need to get to Toronto. I was wondering what people thought was the best / cheapest / safest way of getting across Canada. I have been considering <BR>1) flying (are there any cheap deals people know of?) <BR>2) driving (would it be too dangerous and too far in the middle of winter?) <BR>3) train and bus. <BR> Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I will be travelling with my wife and we have 3-6 days available to us if need be. <BR>Thanks <BR>

It's too far to drive in the winter, and the possibility of severe storms makes the trip's timing uncertain. In the winter, the train tripis pretty dull, becauxe you'll pass lots of empty farms with snow, and lots of forest with snow. <BR>Your best bet is to fly, and yes, there are many special prices. It is always cheaper to buy yourtickets in advance, and often it is cheaper to buy a round trip ticket in advance and only use one portion, rather than buying a one-way ticket. Several charter airlines fly from Vancouver to Toronto, in addition to Air Canada and Canadian Airlines International. <BR> <BR>BAK <BR>

Barry: the best way to get from Vancouver-Toronto, would be to fly. I am not sure if you are flying one way, or return, but either way, you can use charter airlines, e.g. Canada 3000 or Air transat, or Air Canada or Canadian. Book by Nov 03, and save, as Air Canada and Canadian have some seat sale fares available. TONI

Fly. Air Canada is a good airline. <BR>Most of their flights use either 767s or the Airbus. The Airbus flights have a few extra inches of welcome leg room. <BR>After flying AC this summer, I got very unhappy with the cattle car conditions on Delta. <BR>

With 3 - 6 days, and especially in winter, fly! Vancouver to Toronto is a good 5 day drive.
