The Amazing Race comes to Canada !

Chatter on the boards has it that a good chunk of next week's Amazing Race Family edition 2-hour Season Finale will take place in and around Toronto, Montreal and Niagara Falls, Canada.

In the preview clips shown last night for next week's finale, two opposing team members were shown having a scuffle at Toronto's Pearson Int. Airport (sharp eyes spotted the GTAA logo in the background) and eyewitness reports profess that the teams were seen on or near the Toronto Islands on July 30th this year performing a task of some sort. Various other reports have the teams curling and visiting Montreal's olympic stadium.

Guess we'll have to wait for next week to find out.

At least this will be some sort of consolation for me, since I stuck with them the entire boring season!

The preview looked like the boat rides at Niagara Falls.

Enjoy-la!

Klam chowder -I agree. I used to really look forward to Tues pm to watch AR. I stuck with it for a couple of episodes and just couldn't waste my time anymore. I certainly hope they don't repeat the family edition again.

traveller69,
I second that.

It would be enjoyable to watch the Weavers go over the Falls.

PXYca Dec 9th, 2005 08:28 AM

Shane - I agree but certainly God would help them and part the waters for a safe landing?

Shane and PXYca, perfectly said!

The family edition just hasn't been all that interesting, mind you, I've still watched every episode.

I've watched it too, I am ashamed to say.

I always liked AR because they had tough challenges in different countries around the world, some of the places they visited, I had visited too.

This one, where they tour casually through Pennsylvania to Utah is so, so boring. And the lack of knowledge the competitors have about their own country is almost disturbing, maybe it is a good thing they weren't in too many foreign countries.

I doubt they will end up in Canada, but to have the almost last leg of the race in Canada might prove interesting.

The Weavers, who didn't know Pennsylvania was a State, thought that Lake Ponchatran was one of the Great Lakes and knew enough about Utah to know there were Mormans there, might be amusing in the final leg.

God help us if they win.

Well they made it to Toronto allright.

It was fun seeing them in places that I take for granted everyday. I work right outside Union Station and to think that they were right there in July. We might have seen them and never have known.

Had to laugh at the bare footed women walking dazed-like in the Bata shoe museum. Bet there are some wondering whether all Torontonians do that !

Still, the city looked good, and I was glad to see that the Racers enjoyed Toronto and Montreal. We Fodorites knew that anyway.

The previews for the next 2-member Race around the world airing in Feb. next year looks great.

I loved seeing some sights of Toronto and Montreal. For those of you who live there - they looked beautiful and made me want to visit.

The boat ride looked like a blast, and beautiful scenery.
