Thanks for not smoking!!!
Ive just returned from 3 weeks in Greece and must say one of the best things about Canada is the fact that smoking is not allowed in public places. I loved Greece but felt that after ferry trips and restaurants every pore of my body reeked of cigarettes. Thanks Canada for not allowing lighting up indoors!

Scotland has banned smoking indoors also, as has Eire :)

Amen!! Double Amen.
One day, when the lung cancer rate soars through the roof, the Greeks may develop a sense of social consciousness. Until then, nicotine addiction will prevail.

Emphysema does not count. It is an act of God over which man has no control, or so on of my Greek friends tells me, in defense of smoking.

After our office building was declared 100% smoke free, he would stick a cigarette in his mouth and lean way out of the window and blow the smoke outward. That way he technically was not smoking in the building.

In Italy smoking indoors has been banned since 2003. At least we're ahead of the rest of Europe in one thing!

it's has struck me too often how glad we should be not to have to deal with smoking indoors (and while i still enjoy a cigarette once in a while after a couple of drinks, i don't want it indoors). when i've been in restaurants where smoke is all around you, it amazes me that countries/provinces/cities still allow it. remember the days when smoking was allowed on buses and airplanes!!! can you imagine in this day and age going on a 6 hour flight with cigarette smoke all around you.

When we flew to Greece in 2000, smoking was still allowed on the Olympics Air flight. It was quite dreadful!
