Tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria...
Wondering if anyone knows how much afternoon tea is at the Empress (in US$$).
I'm looking for their least expensive tea...not sure if it's tea alone or if it comes with sandwiches...but their least expensive is what I'm interested in finding out about. |
Hi there. I will not paste the direct url because it is ridiculously long and would mess up the format.
Googling this 'empress tea victoria' took me right to their page. I notice the prices are not quoted, but the booking info is. That hints to me. Tell us what the price is if you do follow through. |
Ah. Here it is on a third party travel company site.
http://www.clippervacations.com/afte...at_the_empress $29 to $46 US per person. |
I'm pretty sure there's just one fixed price for the afternoon tea (which comes with scones and tea sandwiches), and I believe it's around $50 CDN per person.

We went there last summer and thot the Empress Tea room too pricey but had a delicious meal in the Bengal Lounge (and great bartending!) There is a teahouse just down the road called Murchies that is nice for a cuppa and also sells a huge assortment of teas.

As far as I know, the Empress has only one type of tea (except last summer, they tell me, when they had a later one with a more savory type of menu).
Price depends on the time of year. I was quoted a price of $38 Can. for late February with seatings from noon to 3:45. In July and August it's $55 Can. (about $47 US) with seatings from noon to 5:15. They say you should reserve 1½ to 2 weeks before in the summer. |
mingxa,
We had that Indian buffet in the Bengal Lounge too and thought it was some of the best Indian food we'd ever had. We were there on a Friday night so we had the benefit of a little jazz band. |
