Tauck tours

Hi, I am from Sydney Australia and was wondering about Tauck Tours. Thinking about the 8 day Best of Canadian Rockies as part of a Cananda/Alaska trip and found this tour company. Are they a good tourist company and are their trips worth the dollars Thanks

Tauck is a well-established high end company. As you can see, they are expensive - staying at Fairmont hotels isn't cheap.

Why do you want a tour? Between trains and car hire, very easy to see Canada on your own.

I agree with thrusdaysd. There is no reason to need a tour for Canada.

But if you need a tour for some un-stated reason, Tauck would be very good -- expensive though.

Also consider Trafalgar tours... we just returned from an 8 day Majestic Alaska... outstanding...

I've been on a Tauck Tour. They have a great reputation. I agree with others, you can look at Tauck's itinerary and replicate it without having the expense of the tour. With great forums, you can plan your own trip and save significant amounts of money.

Quite a difference between Tauck and Trafalagar...

The companies are at different levels for luxury, but the sites are the exact same mountains, rivers, and use the same roads, rail tracks and air... at half the cost...

When considering a tour, I look at the size of the group, the location of the hotels, the details of the itinerary, whether there are likely to be shopping ops (which I hate), and several other things. I have never traveled with either Tauck or Trafalgar, but if I had to pick one it would be Tauck.

I took the train through the Rockies, on my own, with a stop off in Jasper.
