Sun Yat Sen Garden and Storeyum in Vancouver-Are they worth the price?

Has anyone been to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and/or Storeyum? The former is $8.75pp and the latter is $20.95pp. I am wondering if they are worth the price of admission.

We were just there last summer and went to both the public garden (which I believe is free) and the Scholars Garden which is the part that costs $8.75.

Here's the website: www.vancouverchinesegarden.com

and the prices listed are:
Adults: $8.75
Seniors (65 years and older): $7.00
Students with a valid id: $7.00
Children under 5: Free
Family (2 adults and up to 2 children under the age of 18): $20.00

The photos show the Scholar's Garden. The tour was quite interesting. I thought it was worth it.

We walked past the Storeyum but didn't go in so I can't give you any advice about that.

There's also a coupon on the website for a buck. Also, there are brochures at the ticket booth that have a coupon in them.

Storyeum is long gone-"Storyeum, in the wake of diminishing profits and revenue, ran its last show on October 17, 2006 and has since ceased daily operations."

Be sure to take a tour of the Garden it's a unique place quite unlike any other garden.

I took my family (2 kids - ages 9 and 12) to Sun Yat Sen Gardens, along with their grandparents. The Gardens itself is quite beautiful and a small oasis amidst the surrounding city. We stayed much longer than my kids wanted to since their grandparents joined in on a free 90-minute guided tour. So, yes, the gardens are relaxing and picturesque, but if you have kids, they'll tire of it after running through it once.

I didn't know that about Storeyum! I was planning on going this Summer.

Looked good to me.

Well, you could always go to the real Barkerville, about 7-8 hourish drive from Vancouver to the Cariboo Interior, if you're interested in the BC gold rush history. And the real thing is more experiential than a stage production at Storyeum.

We just visited the Chinese Garden last week during our trip to BC. There was no charge for the outer garden at all which is the only part we visited.

If you really want to see a fabulous garden, visit the Queen Elizabeth Garden -- the Quarry Garden is absolutely jawdropping and there is no charge unless you want to go into the Conservatory.

Speaking of Vancouver gardens, another one that is certainly worth the price are the often-overlooked Van Dusen Botanical Gardens:
