strathcona hotel?
 

going to Victoria for a day is Strathcona hotel a good place to stay.

Downtown on a main street with a 'hillbilly bar' = noise most likely. It would be near the bottom of choices on my list.

The Strathcona itself is just fine. But the fact that there are 2 bars, a nightclub, and a rooftop restaurant will lead to a lot of noise. So if you're looking for quiet, probably not the best place to go. On the other hand, its downtown and close to lots of things.

Bring earplugs. Unless of course you are one of the revelers whooping it up at 2:00 am when the bars close. Then it would be perfect.
