St. Martins in mid-April worth the trip?

We're considering traveling to St. Martins in mid-April with our two boys, ages 8 and 10. We completely understand that it's the off season and many of the typical top things to do may not be as accessible or open at all, restaurants may not be open, etc., but with that understanding in place, would this still be a worthwhile trip? Will so much be closed that we'll find ourselves bored in the area for a 4-5 night stay?

We visited the area as part of a longer road trip some years back.
St. John or Moncton are better overnight locations, they have more to offer.
We visited the sea caves, Hopewell Rocks, careful not to be caught on the rising tide.
Also saw the Tidal Bore in Moncton , took the ferry to Digby ( Nova Scotia) where we had the best scallops.
From there we visited Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove and Halifax before continuing on our journey.
We found New Brunswick sparcely populated with a rugged coastline and lots of trees, quite a contrast from the cement and asphalt of the metropolitan cities.
