St. Johns, Newfoundland lodging

Can anyone recommend a favorite bed and breakfast inn in this city? Has anyone stayed at the Prescott Inn, which is recommended in several guidebooks? Thanks you in advance for any tips.

We rented the John Deer apartment through McCoubrey Manor.
www.mccoubrey.com
It was around the corner from the B& B. It was a great location, in walking distance of everything in downtown St. John's. We felt like we were locals!
It is a three story townhouse. You have a private entrance and you walk up to the 2nd floor which has a living room, dining room, laundry room and kitchen. Up to the next floor to three bedrooms and bath. It was very reasonalbe for our family of four and very comfortable. It has a country sort of decor, not luxurious but very pleasant and clean. We enjoyed it.

Hi Kathy, I looked up their web site, and it looks really good! It will all depend on the length of time we stay - we may just have an overnight, in which case a b&b might make more sense. However, I'm going to pass your recommondation on to relatives who plan on staying in St. Johns all week -it sounds perfect for them! Thanks for sharing!

I've never stayed at the Prescott, but I think I've heard positive reviews that it's simple yet friendly. Have a great trip - you'll love Newfoundland.

St Johns is fun but if your schedule permits, go to Trinity and spends 2 or 3 nights at a nice B&B. Is such a quaint little town(more like a village). You would swear that you are back into the 1800's. There is local theatre, music and a museum or two. Its so beautiful. New Foundland tourism must have info on lodging. Splurge for the higher end on the B&B Its worth it. Definitely take a whale tour. That was just amazing! There are a few restaurants that are pretty good too. Its about a 3 hour ride from St Johns but well worth it.

Thanks, Mike, Trinity sounds great - I'll definately check it out.
