Springhill suites is it an okay hotel?
I have search the site but wanted to get a newer posting.
Springhill suites in Montreal...is it a nice hotel? Marriotts as a rule are good. The suite seems like it would be nice too. And they have a pool. Got a rate of $150 CAD per night. Any thoughts... |
I stayed at Springhill Suites a few months ago and it was very nice. Check out my review on Virtualtourist.com by Stellaluna.

I thought you were staying at the Omni?
|
Ya know Scarlett...I do not even know anymore. I have resevations all over town that I have made, canceled, remade. I thought I was staying at the Omni, now I am not sure if I don't want to be in old Montreal. I am usually not that fickle.
but yes, I do have a reservation at the Omni, and the price was right...$179 CAD per night. |
Then my advice, having been to Montreal many times and having stayed at a few hotels, Stay with the Omni and start concentrating on other aspects of the trip.
You can easily go to Old Montreal while there, often if you wish. But our feeling has always been that it is great for browsing and a restaurant or two but we prefer staying downtown. rue Sherbrook is a great street, The Fine Arts Museum is blocks away, St Catherine St where you will shop until you drop, more restaurants than you can ever get to eat in are right around the corner. You are closer to the St Denis area, with L'Express and all those shops including Lush :) Then there is Mt Royal and the Plateau.. I am not in anyway saying that Old Montreal is not charming or lovely, there is just so much else to do. Email me at [email protected] if you want to ask specific questions..I will be happy to give you lists :) |
