Space Camp in Laval

Does anybody have any experience with the residential space camp for kids? It sounds awfully inexpensive when compared to the US space camps. My then 12-year old wants to go.

I used to work directly across the highway from the camp. The facility looks nice from outside and was always busy. I do not know first hand about the programs they offer. One thing to consider is that it may all be in French. You should verify that they offer English programs unless your child is fluent in French.

Yes, I verified that they have camps in both French and English.

My son went several years ago. He loved it. We dropped him off because we had been travelling in the Laurentians and were pleasantly surprised with the accomodations. It was a wonderful experience for him. He travelled home by train to Toronto with some of the other "campers."

Bonnie,
did he attend the 6-day camp? We're planning a family trip to the Laurentians and thought we could drop him off and then pick him up for the rest of the vacation. I just don't feel comfortable having him fly with connecting flights all by himself.
I just can't believe that it would be about half price of the space camps in the US. I assume that your son attended the camp in English, right?

Ingrid, get used to it. with a few notable exceptions, (e.g. gas), things in canada are between a little to much cheaper. It's the best kept secret in the tourist world.

It was several years ago but 6 days sounds about right. I can't give you specifics about what the reason for the price difference is but I can tell you that the atmosphere was great and he spent time with other kids that were as interested as he was in the subject. Friends sent their son to the US camp, spent a fortune, and were envious that when our son wanted to go we had the option of sending him to a camp in Canada. The camp is situated perfectly for going up and coming back from the Laurentians. I believe it's just off Hwy. 15 which takes you up North.

Bonnie,
thank you so much. This sounds perfect for us. He doesn't care about the luxury of the accommodations as long as the stuff they're doing is interesting. And, of course, logistically it'd be alot easier for us than having him fly to Alabama, Florida, or California all by himself. Thanks!
Yes it sits right on Highway 15, exit at the exit for the large shopping center in Laval and then backtrack down the access road. It is on the same side as the mall.
