Well Mont Tremblant opened today. For photos of opening day go to:

Tremblant would not have the best conditions for Christmas. In a normal year, your best bets are the Rockies. Banff (Sunshine Village and Lake Louise) is the best known, most consistent place for Christmas snow. There are other, less known resorts in the rockies like Fernie, Panorama and Red mountain which would also be good bets. Whistler typically has ok conditions at Christmas but it has been very warm there over the past few years and it has been dicey.

Yes Tremblant opened, but with 3 of 94 runs open, it's hardly great skiing.

While Tremblant should be fully in operation by Christmas, the Western Canadian resorts will likely have better conditions at that time. In the East, Mont Sainte Anne and Le Massif should be good, as well as Tremblant.

However, given our weather in recent years, who knows what conditions will be like?

In BC Big White, Silver Star and Sun Peaks are all open - with limited skiing. We have been to SS in the past over Christmas and conditions were great - but not last year, I believe. It is in the lap of the snow gods!!!

Good luck with somewhere to stay - it is a really busy time, but quietens down after the 3rd of January.
