shopping for leather coats in Montreal
 

where is the best place to shop in Montreal for leather coats and jackets? How much cheaper are they to buy in Canada versus the US? What time and days are the stores open?

i'd be interested in knowing how the prices compare to those in the U>S>

To me, this seems like an odd comparison. In the US, for example, you can buy leather jackets anywhere from<BR>$100-$2000 and more. Bigger selection and price ranges in cities like NY and LA, less so in small towns in the midwest.<BR><BR><BR>Are you trying to get a good deal on a specific brand? It may work out better for you that way because of the strong US dollar, but don't forget about the 14.5% taxes in Montreal, only partly refundable<BR><BR>I know that Canada is known for its selection of furs (maybe more than the US but NY has a fur district...) but leather is available just about anywhere.

Whenever we go to Montreal in the fall, I look for leather/fur coats.So far I have seen no bargains.<BR>But I always find something I love at Holt Renfrew.But they are not bargains:)<BR>

Any ideas about where to buy sheepskin coats- ladies and mens? Are coats cheaper then buying in the US? Are there any bargains in Montreal compared to the US?

I too am looking for a sheepskin or sherling coat? Please help. I am leaving in 10 days.

Not sure if you have Danier in the USA. They sell reasonably priced leather and shearling clothing. They always have sales and you can find them in most large malls or shopping areas. They also have outlet stores.
