Seeing Bears in Churchill

We planned to go to Churchill to see the bears in October, but we could not. If you went, how was it? Make me jealous!

Hi Dave! Unfortunately I did go to Churchill to see the bears, but I think I found a website that has some good photos. I live in Winnipeg, and have never been to Churchill, although from what I here there are some excellent tours. One of these websites is www.tundrabuggytours.com/index_flash.html. I know it is different seeing photos than the real bears themselves. I hope seeing the photos will make you want to come back to see them next year. Besides the bears in Churchill, our province has some wonderful places to visit! Take care!

What I meant to say in that first sentence is that I did not go to see the bears, but I think it would be a wonderful oppurtunity

The Ice was late this year so you didn't miss much.
The Bears are hard-pressed to feed themselves because of the thiness of the ice which is of course due to Global Warming.
If you want to see the Bears go soon, in 25 years they won't be there anymore.

I love this sight and found it helpful when we travelled to Egypt.
I take people every summer to see the Polar bears - not in Churchill but in northern Ontario! We over-fly the bears in a float plane so as not to cause too much stress. I have been to both places and can recommend both.I have contacts for both.
We are thinking of going this year in Nov. Anyone else there last year?
