Seattle to Vancouver drive times

I'm planning to drive from Seattle to Vancouver on Memorial Day, Monday -May 30-, perhaps stay overnight in Vancouver and return to Seattle late afternoon on Tuesday-May 31. How long will the drive take considering that I'm driving into Canada and therefore going through customs at the border and then reversing the process a day later? Will I be going against traffic because of my timing or will that make any difference at all? Please advise.

BE SURE to bring either a certified copy of your birth certificate OR your passport for easy border crossing.

Get out of Seattle as early as you can on Monday morning... traffic won't be pretty no matter what, but at least not so much of it will be going into Canada (except for day-trippers).

110 miles from downtown Seattle to the border... then roughly 35 to Vancouver from there.

You will be going against the grain of most traffic, but I'd still get on the road before 9am (from Seattle) if I were you.

Tuesday coming home shouldn't be any serious trouble at all at the border. Though if you feel comfortable following the signs to "Truck Customs", that can usually save several minutes coming back into the states.

Not far from the border, the road signs on the Canadian freeway will offer an option to go off of an exit for "truck customs" (CARS entirely welcome there) or to stay on the freeway to the main border crossing.

If you take Truck Customs, it is a cinch to get back to the interstate freeway once through U.S. Customs... just follow the road.

Leave seattle @ 8:00am on Memorial Day and you'll probably be in Vancouver by 11:00am.

I'd wait until evening to return to Seattle, given the Vancouver RUSH HOUR... May as well stick around Vancouver and have dinner, then drive off after 7:30 and be back in Seattle not long after 10:00pm
