Sasur restaurant Toronto -- reviews??
I'm trying to decide which restaurant to celebrate our anniversary at, and have heard good things about Sasur. Can anyone provide some insight, on food, service, price, value??? If not there, which other restaurants are worth the extra $$$ for fine dining??? Thanks

I think you are probably referring to Susur. I have never been but it is written about a lot on the Chowhound Canada message board. It sounds really nice and really expensive. Go to the board, hit control f and search for Susur. Here's the link:
http://www.chowhound.com/canada/boar...da/canada.html

Sorry I meant Susur... any other tips/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Susur (Lee) the chef is one of the premiere nouvelle cuisine wizards in North America. Heavily into fusion and innovation, your best bet is the Taster's menu as you will get a bit of everything.

I was there for a birthday recently and my husband did not confide the tab, but I figure it was pretty close to $400 (CDN)for two with all the works. I do mean all BTW, champagne codktails, two bottles of wine from the special wine list, desserts and old port for both of us (yes, we took a cab...)W

Was it worth it? Well, my husband has a more refined palate than I do and he would say "yes"-I'd never admit it to him but I would have enjoyed half a dozen TO restaurants more...including Sotto Sotto, Adratico, and embarassingly, Ruth's Chris Steak House...you decide and post your preference.
Coincidentally, I asked a firend who went to Susur this week. Here is his response verbatim, "It was very nice. Good place to entertain. Decor is very modern
minimalist. The waiters know their stuff. We did the tasting menu and got
5 or 6 plates of different food. The smoked organic beef was a high
light. Very unusual menu."
