Safe Areas, Nightspots for 20 year olds
Visiting Vancouver in June with another family. Their 22 y.o daughter and our 25y.o. son will be joining us for a long weekend. The 20 year olds will want to explore the nightspots and clubs. I noticed that there are some areas of town with drug activity or are generally unsafe. Please advise which areas to avoid and suggest some interesting spots/clubs to visit at night. Friends are at the Hyatt, we are at the Times Square Suites near Stanley Park. They will be walking or taking cabs. Thanks.

I would ask the hotel; there is a very bad area downtown that you can stumble on very easily if you're not savy.....

That is probably the most nonsensical post I have ever read here. In fact unless a person is trying to score crack cocaine in the back lanes of the Downtown East Side there is nowhere one can't walk 24/7 in complete safety. The kids should check out www.clubvibes.com to gather info from their own demographic. |
traveltwins, I'll get the name and location from my son this afternoon, he went to ubc for 4 years.....I remember it was close to our hotel, which was on the waterfront...
mr salmon, I'm just trying to help the poster of the question to the best of my knowledge; if that area has been cleaned up in recent years, so be it but I remember driving through there late at night and it was pretty scary... |
Hastings Street should be avoided, the whole downtown east side...
