Romantic Honeymoon Accommodations

My finance and I are getting married and leaving July 2nd for our honeymoon. We'd like find upscale accommodations that are tucked away with access to outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, canoeing, etc. We are hoping to find something with a pretty view of a lake or mountains - either a larger B&B or a small to mid-size resort. Can anyone provide suggestions? Thank you!

Any particular province you want to go to?

There are a some exceptions, but B&Bs in Canada tend to be on the smaller side (2 - 5 rooms, owners living on site). I'm not sure where you are from, but in Canada, a B&B is usually primarily the hosts' home and in a residential area (and some are rural) - but as I said, there are some exceptions - some areas allow larger "B&B Inns", which seem to be more the norm in the U.S. Also, some smaller hotels market themselves as B&B Inns.

Check out www.bbcanada.com - this is a national directory of B&Bs in Canada. Many provinces have B&B associations with their own online directories, and most of these are linked from the directory site I gave you above. You can also try the www.canadabbhosts.com directory - this is also national in scope.

A cabin at Lake O'Hara resort near Field, BC. It is expensive but fabulous.

Emerald Lake Lodge fits your wants perfectly. We stayed there for part of our honeymoon and loved it.
