Romance in Montreal

Was wondering if anyone has any info on a nice romantic hotel or inn in Montreal that is reasonably priced. If so can you let me know. Also could you post the price range. <BR>Thanks.

ditto Brian's reply. Auberge du Vieux Port is romantic, well located and charming; price is approx. $150/night including full breakfast.

We love Hotel de la Montagne (they have a website). Rates are about $165 Canadian (about $110 American). Two splendid restaurants (one fancy, one very nice), gorgeous cocktail lounge with live (jazz, old standards) music, nightclub, and rooftop lounge all within. Great location, too (back of hotel is on Crescent St.).

Spent a long weekend in November at the Ritz Carlton - only CAD195 a night. Service was impeccable, room was on lower floor, but up to RC standards in every way. Have also stayed at the Auberge de Vieux Port and recommend it. Only problem is that in the winter the general area is very quiet, since it is the main tourist area. If you are going then, you might want to consider a more lively part of town than the old port.

If your looking for a cozy, romantic, Italian restaurant, try Hosteria Romana on Metcalf street, a block or so above St. Catherine - it's a real jewel!
