Road trip from Vancouver to Rockies & back
My boyfriend and I have been living in Canada a for few years now (we're from Israel) and have always wanted to see the Rockies and more of BC. We have about a week for this road trip and would like to make the most out of it. We like hiking and camping. Can anyone suggest a good route, that will include some nice parks/camping grounds & hiking trails?
Thanks, Lior |

One circle route you may consider: Vancouver - Kamloops - Revelstoke - Banff (via the Trans Canada Hwy), then the Icefield Parkway Banff to Jasper Nat'l Park (one of the most spectacular highways in the world), then Robson - Valemont - Kamloops - Lilloet - Whistler - Vancouver.
Mind you, you'd spend more of the week driving and looking at scenery rather than hiking, but the scenery would be worth it. |
Thanks, that's actually the route we came up with so far. Ya there is a lot of driving involved, so we might skip the Whistler route and just go back the same way.

Depending on where you live in Vancouver, the Whistler road might actually be a shorter drive w/less traffic. If you live on the North Shore, I'd go Kamloops, Cache Creek, Duffy Lake Rd to Whistler then down. Beautiful drive
