Rim Rock Resort

We are planning to stay at Rim Rock in June. Is it a good choice? I have a 3 year old child with me. Is the resort too secluded? Would a better choice be staying at one of the many hotels in downtown Banff?

Thanks

No, the Rimrock Resort is a beautiful hotel...I think you made an excellent choice. Its not too secluded - Banff isn't a very big town, so everything is close by. The Rimrock is also right across the road from the Sulpher Hot Springs, which is worth a visit, as well as the Sulpher Mountain gondola.

In my opinion, the Rimrock is the finest hotel in Banff, even more so than the Banff Springs (although the Banff Springs has that "old world" charm). Great choice. Enjoy your stay!

Tim

We spent 3 nights at the Rimrock with a 4 year old - had a wonderful time.
Gondola ride at Sulphur Mtn is worth the short walk. Hiking paths right on the property are pretty tame.
You will love the Rimrock - it is a beautiful property. I recommend their breakfast Buffet.
The town of Banff is wonderful.

We stayed there right after it opened several years ago and found it to fabulous. The distance is fine, even refreshing after the hubub of Banff, the views from the room are spectacular, and the concierge services very helpful. Banff is very congested, and the RimRock is a retreat.
