restaurants in old Montreal

I am going to Montreal this weekend and am looking forward to staying at Hotel Nelligan. I am looking for restaurants in the old Montreal area. We will be there for 2 nights--I've come upon the idea of:
Les Remparts, Bistro Boris, the Bonaparte, Verses (at the Hotel Nelligan)
I'd appreciate any help/feedback about these 4 restaurants or any others as I need to narrow down my choices to two. Kathe

Loved the Bonaparte on my last visit.

Stash is a wonderful polish restaurant on St. Paul St., one block west of the Nelligan.
I had lunch there yesterday. Les Phyrénées further west seems really popular, haven't tried it yet.

Cobalt tapas bar is fun also.

Olive and Gourmando, again west of the Nelligan,
is great for pastries and coffee, and lunch, it's closed on sundays. Their brownies are the talk of the town.

Breakfast is served buffet style in the lobby of the Nelligan, you'll enjoy that !!
There is a roof top restaurant at the Nelligan, ask about it, I've been meaning to try it.

So far, I've managed to keep you in the neighborhood; the Bonaparte is great; classic and
chic. A nice italian place would be the Muscadin, McGill and Notre Dame.

The galleries and shops in the area are great, enjoy your weekend and let us know how it went !!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice! We just got back from our weekend and had a wonderful time. We loved the Nelligan Hotel--great atmosphere, room, location.
We had dinner at the Bonaparte and it was a great recommendation. I had lamb chops and my husband had venison, both prepared very well. The only thing he didn't care for was the onion soup--a bit thin.
The second night we tried the restaurant at the Nelligan--Verses. The duck I had was excellent.--I am a big fan of wonderfully prepared duck breast. My husband had the osso buco lamb and although it was very tender, the flavoring was a bit bland. Overall, another great dinner. And, now it's back to work but at least feeling renewed and refreshed.
