Restaurant Suggestions

Hi,
I will be spending three days in Montreal and two in Quebec city next week. I haven't been there in twenty years so I'm excited to come back. If anyone can suggest restaurants in Montreal/Quebec city, please let me know. We are not looking for five-star dining, but just moderate prices in neighborhoods. Thanks for your help

In Montreal, i always reccommend heading up to the plateau near duluth and St denis. Dozens of fun BYOB restaurants of all kinds, many have backyard patios.

These guides search by neighbourhood, style of cuisine, BYO wine (known in French as AVV) and some customer feedback.

My current all-round favorite in Montreal, at a moderate price, is le Quartier-General, north of Ave. Mont-Royal in the Plateau. Careful cooking, skilled service, AVV but not a helpful website of its own. https://www.restomontreal.ca/resto/l...neral/3277/en/

In Quebec City, we ate at Bello which is an Italian restaurant that was very good and reasonably priced. We also ate at the Continental which was pricey, but had the unique experience of having certain foods cooked tableside. I took my daughter, 21 at the time on a trip there and I ordered everything that was cooked tableside including Ceasar salad, duck a l orange, and cherries jubilee for dessert. It was quite the experience and we both enjoyed our delicious meal!

In Montreal:
Au Coin Berbere
Bienvenue au restaurant Au Coin Berbère

We were there last week, lamb and l'osso buco were great, my chicken was "meh"
Husband and wife team, small, popular. BYOB.

We went to Au Coin Berbere because we could not get the 17:30 serving time at our first choice.

If you want to get away from the standard Plateau boiler plate, check out the Verdun neighborhood, and Wellington Street.

In Quebec I'd recommend Le Lapin Saute in the lower city.
Paillard is very good for sandwiches, soups, pastries, etc
